The military officer recalled that on Sunday the complete liberation of the town of Maiorsk, near Donetsk, was announced as a result of a successful offensive by Russian troops.

Konashenkov added that the Russian army rejected a Ukrainian attack from the direction of Kuzemovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, killed more than 120 enemy troops, and destroyed six tanks, five infantry vehicles, three armored vehicles, and five tanks.

In the Lugansk People’s Republic the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 90 soldiers in a failed attack on Russian positions in the town of Chernopopovka, the spokesman stated.

At the same time, the Russian units repulsed the Ukrainian attack on southern Donetsk, killing 80 Ukrainian soldiers, and eliminating a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored personnel carriers and three pickup trucks, the spokesman noted.
