Panama City, Nov 15 (Prensa Latina) Panamanian Health Ministry (MINSA) on Tuesday reported seven new cases of monkeypox, totaling 34 cases since the disease was detected back in July 5.

According to the MINSA Epidemiology Department’s latest report, most recent patients were detected in men aging 31 to 53, residents of the Metropolitan Region, West Panama, North Panama, and the capital district of San Miguelito.

Out of the 34 monkeypox-infected patients, 17 of them remained isolated, three hospitalized due to their health conditions and risk factors, and 14 are at-home screening.

MINSA reported health teams in these regions are conducting field researches to determine close contacts of these seven new cases and receive monkeypox shots.

Since May 24, Panama has kept a health alert nationwide and redoubled epidemiological surveillance in all health regions.
