Held on digital platforms, the event was attended by professionals from Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama, El Salvador, Mexico, and other countries.
Indigenous peoples from many of those countries were also represented.
Participants agreed to continue coordinating and articulating actions to confront the communications war and media terrorism promoted by the United States against the governments of the region.
They also discussed the strengthening of the work of the press in disseminating the actions of social and community organizations.
During the meeting, tribute was paid to Argentinean journalist Sebastian Moro, assassinated during the coup d’état against President Evo Morales in Bolivia in 2019.
Among the media represented at the meeting were Radio Plaza de la Dignidad (Chile), Resumen Latinoamericano (Argentina), El Puka (Peru) and Telesur.
