Cuban gov´t recommends to remain alert to Covid-19 during holidays

Havana, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuban health authorities on Friday highly recommended its population to remain alert to any sign of Covid-19 infection and to redouble preventive measures ahead of the New Years´ Eve celebrations.

People gathered and migration ramp up, so the Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) highly recommended to go immediately to the doctor in case of respiratory symptoms and also to keep social distance and personal protection at home.

In this regard, MINSAP advised to take extreme individual and collective hygiene measures, and to wear face coverings and wash their hands.

In addition, other provisions are added: do not go to work, school or social events if respiratory symptoms are present, keep social distance and wear face masks in case of attending any social event, taking public transportation, as well as participating in crowed activities.

According to MINSAP´s statement, Cuba has lately shown a downward coronavirus infection trend, averaging 2.25 cases per day in the last four weeks.

Regarding death toll, there have been no deaths since August 19 (91 days).
