Indonesian Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan and Chilean Deputy Minister of International Economic Relations Jose Miguel Ahumada, who penned the documents, agreed on the importance of this step to strengthen bilateral relations.
After the signing, Hasan told reporters about Chile’s high potential to market Indonesian products and services in Latin America.
He also highlighted the impact of the commercial partnership between the two nations, with which a bilateral trade of more than one billion US dollars was achieved.
I believe that in the next two or three years we will be in a position to exceed that figure,’ the Indonesian minister added.
According to Hasan, the agreement with Chile is part of Indonesia’s efforts to become a developed country by 2045, even through diversification of export markets.
