After being received at the Russian Federation Council by its president, Valentina Matvienko, both leaders inaugurated the exhibition of Russian artists called Oh Havana! Transit…
According to Matvienko, the exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures express how Cuba is always present in the thoughts and actions of Russian citizens.
“In the streets of Havana, we witness the ties between our peoples in defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of both nations. We need events like these to strengthen friendship,” she said.
For his part, the Cuban head of State said that every time he arrives in Moscow he is surprised by new initiatives, and this time, in addition to the heavy snow, he will take with him the warmth and affection of Russians as reflected in the exhibition.
“Having captured the images of Havana, and its own colors, can only be explained beyond their professionalism and art, and by the feeling of friendship between both peoples,” he noted.
Diaz-Canel ratified the love that Cuba feels for Russia, which must be reinforced at present when both countries are living under Western sanctions.
