Angola’s teachers go on strike

Luanda, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) Angola's teachers are on strike from Thursday, after the National Union of Teachers (SINPROF) called for a strike demanding effective responses from the Government to the union's demands.

TPA news channel reported live today, that the general education centers closed classes in different provinces.

The reports state that some schools continue with the teaching activity, while the general view in most of the educational centers is of empty classrooms.

In an interview with TPA, students expressed concerns about the proximity of exams and recalled the effects on the learning process during the difficult moments of Covid-19 pandemic.

According to SINPROF, the teachers’ strike should be set in three phases, the first on November 23-30, the second on December 6-16, and the last on January 3-31, 2023.
