On the eve of the sixth anniversary of Castro’s death, the organization dedicated a space to his memory in the weekly publication La lettre électronique Hebdo.

CubaCoop stated that Fidel “left us so as to undertake one last trip” on November 25th, 2016, 60 years after he led the departure of the Granma yacht from Mexico.

Regarding Fidel Castro’s political career, CubaCoop highlighted his strategic vision and willingness to defend the independence of his homeland and against the exploitation of the poor the world wide.

Castro’s concerns for the future inhabitants of the planet were also relevant, due to the great problems posed by feeding billions of human beings with limited natural resources available, and for the latent threat of the destructive power of modern weapons.

Fidel Castro and Ernesto “Che” Guevara symbolizes the hope of my generation, the association stated.
