During the opening ceremony, delegates will be laying wreaths at the statue of Fidel Castro, which evokes his memory in the courtyard of the premises of the Federation of Construction Workers of Peru.

The main topic of this biennial meeting, interrupted in the past three years due to the impact of Covid-19, is to pay tribute to Fidel Castro.

The opening ceremony will also pay tribute to the trade union leader of the Federation of Builders and the General Confederation of Workers, Mario Huaman, who also stood out for his solidarity with Cuba and who recently passed away .

After the openeing, which will be attended by the Cuban Ambassador to Peru Carlos Rafael Zamora, delegates and guests will observe a minute´s silence in tribute to Huaman, former FTCCP and CGTP Secretary-General.
