It is important to achieve comprehensive cooperation in trade, investment, and new sectors between South Korea and Latin America, laying the institutional foundation for economic and trade cooperation, Kim said.
He added that the National Assembly will also encourage the Government by offering all necessary assistance, adding that a considerable portion of South Korea’s wheat, corn and soybean imports depend on Latin America, and cooperation in the lithium industry and other key minerals is also of fundamental interest.
Kim called for active support for South Korea’s bid to host World Expo 2030 in the southeastern port city of Busan.
For his part, Honduran Ambassador to South Korea Virgilio Paredes requested strong support from the South Korean Parliament in order to establish an institution to boost trade with Latin America, which is necessary to expand the basis for cooperation.
