Russia, Azerbaijan talk about peace agreement with Armenia

Moscow, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) The presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, respectively, had a telephone conversation for the second time this week to address trilateral agreements that also include Armenia, the Russian government reported on Saturday.

According to the official Kremlin website, in the conversation the two leaders discussed new measures to be implemented in the package of agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, focused on practical issues of unblocking transport and economic ties in the region.

Putin and Aliyev had a previous conversation on November 22.

At that time, the heads of state discussed the implementation of trilateral agreements with Armenia to ensure security on the border between the two and restore transport links in the South Caucasus.

The following day, November 23, Putin met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian in Yerevan.

In October, after his meeting with Aliyev and Pashinian, Putin announced that they had agreed on a joint statement.

He further noted that the meeting had been useful and laid the groundwork for further progress towards a settlement of the situation as a whole.

The Russian leader then stressed that Moscow, for its part, will do everything possible to reach a final and comprehensive agreement.
