Recent reports indicate that the Ministry of Health (MINSAL) detected over 3,700 cases in just one week of November (13-19), and experts forecast that the peak of contagions could last until late December.

In addition to this, in the past weeks there has been an increase of seasonal flu and other respiratory diseases which sometimes hide the symptoms of Covid-19 and increase its lethality.

In the last week of November, the country has reported over twenty deaths, especially among elderly patients.

In this sixth wave of this deadly disease, almost 500 cases per day have been reported in the past few days, and authorities are preparing to reestablish some hospital admission conditions to treat patients, according to MINSAL spokespeople.
