The head of State said that it is a day of joy, victory, and happiness, and thanked all the people who collaborated in the restoration of the Pepito Tey elementary school, where the ceremony took place.
At the ceremony, seven families that turned their houses into schools after Hurricane Ian were praised.
According to the Presidency of the Republic on Twitter, the hurricane affected 477 schools in Pinar del Rio, 100 of which were fully recovered, and work is being done on another 50, thanks to the collaboration of institutions, organizations, small and medium-sized businesses, artists, and citizens.
Army Corps General Ramon Espinosa, Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo, Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velazquez, and other government and party officials also attended this ceremony.
