Kyrgyzstan signs agreement on border demarcation with Uzbekistan

Bishkek, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) Kirghiz President Sadir Zhaparov on Tuesday signed an agreement on the border delimitation with Uzbekistan, the press service of the Central Asian nation's head of State reported.

According to the press release, Zhaparov signed the law ‘On the ratification of the treaty between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan on certain sections of the state border’, signed on November 3, 2022, in Bishkek.

It was also specified that the treaty defined the last 302 kilometers of the undescribed state border and that there are no longer any disputed sections between the two countries.

Kirgizstan and Uzbekistan intensified relations in 2017 after nearly a decade of marked cooling.
