At President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador´s morning press briefing, Lopez-Gatell said such an increase is also due to the winter season when the number of cases rises.
In Mexico, as we warned in summer, after a period in which coronavirus case toll decreased, there might be a trend change and an increasing number of cases, he stated.
Lopez-Gatell explained there has been a progressive increase in coronavirus cases since week 44th, but it is not accelerated, so there have been weeks with an upward trend.
According to data, whereas 401 Covid-19 cases were reported in week 43rd (Oct.23-29), this figure rose to 499 in the following week, and later to 662 and 746. In the week from Nov.21-26, the coronavirus case toll rose to 737.
Lopez-Gatell noted that although mortality rating stands below five deaths per day, it has remained stable, but hospitalization rating increased.
