During the meeting with his Bahamian counterpart, Frederick Mitchell, Foreign Minister Park Jin expressed his hope to improve bilateral relations on the basis of their continued cooperation in the economy and humanitarian support, among other areas, Yonhap news agency reported.

Park also requested the Bahamas’ support to enhance forward-looking cooperation between South Korea and the Caribbean region.

For his part, Mitchell expressed his hope for mutually sustainable development with Seoul in maritime policy, climate change, technology cooperation, and other areas.

Mitchell is visiting North Korea to attend a high-level forum between the Republic of Korea and Caribbean countries on Wednesday.
