Ms. Richardson arrived on Monday, according to what the Command published on social media, a message in which she specified that she will visit the humanitarian mission of the hospital ship USNS Comfort, located in the country to provide free health care in several parts of this territory.
She added that another goal of her trip was to discuss the partnership between the United States and the Dominican Republic.
A few days ago, U.S. representatives issued a statement to their fellow citizens about the increased controls and interrogations they could face when traveling to the Dominican Republic simply because of their skin color.
This was widely condemned by social sectors, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the document as unfounded, untimely and vile and considered that it contradicts the excellent bilateral relationship.
