Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho (December 15, 1907 – December 5, 2012) is internationally known for his monumental designs, with wide curves and generous spaces.
He was also noted for his political strength and his communist membership, which he defended until the end of his days.
