Arab League and Palestine prepare conference on Jerusalem

Cairo, Dec 6 (Prensa Latina) The Arab League and Palestine are preparing a conference on the city of Jerusalem as Israel renews its offensive in an attempt to expand the presence of Jews on that area,in detriment of the Arabs.

This was announced to the press by the Palestinian Minister for Jerusalem Affairs, Fadi al-Hadmi, who explained that the event will take place on December 12th at the headquarters of the Arab League.

He also welcomed the firmness of the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the face of continuous violations by the Israeli troops.

During a meeting held hours earlier with al-Hamdi, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, restated the institution’s support for the Palestinian cause and warned about the consequences of the escalation in the occupied territories.

Aboul Gheit condemned “the unbridled violence practiced by the occupation forces”, pointing out that it will cause an explosion.

With this situation in view, he called on the international community to assume its responsibility to protect the Palestinian people.
