Exports made by all 100 largest companies in this sector grew by 1.9 percent in 2021 reaching 592 billion dollars.
The sector continues to grow, but the rate is far below the one reported prior to the Covid-19 pandemic when the average rate was about 3.7 percent.
To some extent, arms sales by the United States have decreased by eight-tenths, but SIPRI mainly attributed this to inflation. However, the first five companies on the list are from the United States.
The report indicated that 40 US firms earned 299 billion dollars in 2021 by concept of arms sales.
For its part, Europe has 27 companies on the list, and sales grew by 4.2 percent up to 123 billion dollars.
