According to Foreign Ministry sources quoted by the al-Watan newspaper, Pedersen will be received by Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad, the co-chairman of the Constitution Discussion Committee on the Syrian side, Ahmad al-Kuzbari, and the ambassador and special representative of the Russian president in Damascus, Alexander Yefimov.
Pedersen told reporters after his previous visit to Damascus in mid-October that their talks focused on ways to advance the political plan and discussions in the Constitutions Committee, whose meetings are being held in Geneva between the government and the opposition.
In a following issue, the head of Syrian diplomacy demanded that the UN envoy put an end to the illegal presence of American and Turkish troops on Syrian territory, and to immediately cease Western sanctions that aggravate the suffering of Syrians.
