Cuba reports 14 new Covid -19 cases

Havana, Dec 7 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 14 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths and a total of 44 patients with this disease across the country.

According to this ministry´s daily update, the 44 active patients have a stable clinical evolution.

On Wednesday, 18 medical discharges were granted, and the total number of recovered patients rose to 1,102,833. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, in March 2020, 1,111,466 cases have been reported.

According to the official report, no one in Cuba died from this disease, so the death toll remains at 8,530.

This favorable epidemiological result is because of the phased vaccination campaign against Covid-19, due to the fact that Cuba has administered 42,575,028 doses with homegrown vaccines Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, 90.3 percent of the Cuban population has been fully vaccinated, whereas 8,661,216 people have received booster doses.

According to data from the National Statistics and Information Office, in late March, 2022, Cuba had a population of 11,105,814 inhabitants.
