Back to a festival he loves, Sanjines will be presenting here tomorrow at the emblematic Charles Chaplin cinema his most recent work set in the Chaco War, which tells the story of Guillermo, a young bourgeois who saves an Aymara farmer from death.
Over time a friendship is forged between the two.
Guillermo rebels against his colonel for racist behavior, is tried and sentenced to death.
Guillermo is helped to escape and Sebastian accompanies him in his escape in the middle of the Bolivian Chaco.
This is his first film after Juana Azurduy, guerrilla of the Patria Grande (2016).

En Cuba prestigioso cineasta boliviano Jorge Sanjinés
La Habana, 7 dic (Prensa Latina) El prestigioso cineasta boliviano Jorge Sanjinés llegó hoy a esta capital para presentar su nuevo filme Los viejos soldados, una de las varias presentaciones especiales del Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana.
Fuentes de la cita confirmaron a Prensa Latina que quien fuera uno de los fundadores del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, junto a otros grandes de aquella ola como el brasileño Glauber Rocha y el argentino Fernando (Pino) Solanas, desembarcó en La Habana esta madrugada.
De vuelta a un festival que ama, Sanjinés estará presentando aquí mañana en el emblemático cine Charles Chaplin su más reciente obra ambientada en la Guerra del Chaco, que narra la historia de Guillermo, un joven de la burguesía, quien salva de la muerte a un campesino aymara.
Con el tiempo se forja una amistad entre los dos. Guillermo se rebela contra su coronel por un comportamiento racista, es juzgado y condenado a la pena de muerte.
Guillermo es ayudado a escapar y Sebastián lo acompaña en la huida en medio del Chaco boliviano.
Se trata de su primera película tras Juana Azurduy, Guerrillera de la Patria Grande (2016).
