First of all, we believe that it is necessary to update the strategic plans for the development of the Eurasian Economic Union, the president said in a speech at an expanded meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council.
The basic document for the development of economic integration is designed for the period up to 2025, and it is important to start preparing a new strategic planning document that would establish greater integration in the medium and long term, the Russian leader noted.
One of these vectors would be the strengthening of the technological sovereignty of the EAEU member States and the creation of a common industrial and innovation foundation in key industrial and agricultural sectors, he added.
In general, our cooperation is developing quite well, moreover, recently there was very positive work in some key areas of cooperation, and we are sure that this will be extended to all spheres of our organization’s work, Putin went on.
The president proposed to focus work on strengthening investment cooperation, creating favorable conditions for mutual investment, simplifying relevant administrative procedures, and increasing guarantees to protect investors’ rights.
Putin added that he considered the harmonization of interstate tax regulatory regimes and the simultaneous introduction of advanced tax control mechanisms as a comprehensive component of such work.
