In a statement, published by The Manila Times, the soldiers assured that the camp, located in Marogong, was allegedly used by the Maute gang, linked to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization.
During the operation, several high-caliber weapons weres seized, they said. The soldiers explained in the statement that the Maute gang mainly operates in central Mindanao, one of the Filipino islands located in the Pacific Ocean.
According to the newspaper, the security forces are also policing the exit areas of the territory to locate the 40 remaining members of the terrorist organization.
It recalled the arrest in August of an alleged member of this gang and two of his followers in Marantak, Lanao del Sur.
