When reporting the results of his administration in 10th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People´s Power (ANPP), the Cuban leader stated that some governments championing social justice and sovereignty have emerged regionally.
He added that Cuba has reaffirmed its strong support and solidarity with the people and government of Venezuela, Nicaragua and Bolivia which had to fight off destabilizing attempts.
Díaz-Canel highlighted progress of bilateral relations with Mexico, whose President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador visited Havana, and thanked his solidarity ahead of disasters that hit Cuba.
The president also spoke about the willingness to make progress in areas of common interest with Argentina, while calling the resumption of peace talks between the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army.
For three days, Cuban deputies have analyzed socioeconomic issues including the implementation of measures to face the country´s economic plight, progress of the legislative schedule and crackdown on crime.
