Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia to expand cooperation against terrorism

Addis Ababa, Dec 16 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia agreed to expand cooperation to confront terrorism and any act of extreme violence, the Federal Police stated on Friday.

Both nations’ commitment was exposed at a meeting between Demelash Gebre-Michael, Commissioner-General of the Federal Police, and Saudi Ambassador to Ethiopia Fahad Obaydallah Alhumaydani Almotairi.

Gebremichael and Alhumaydani Almotairi discussed ways to improve bilateral cooperation and agreed on the need of joining forces to eliminate human trafficking. They also exchanged views on how to expand police partnership.

Saudi Arabia announced that it would improve the institution’s capacity in border control.

The diplomat congratulated the commissioner-general on his election as the President of Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) on December 8, during the 24th assembly of that regional body held in Addis Ababa.
