The slight increase in the number of contagions was the result of 1,198 PCR tests made for surveillance, which brings to 14,260,242 tests made nationwide, 1,111,697 of have been positive.

Once again, no deaths or serious or critical cases were reported and 112 patients remain hospitalized to date, all of them with a stable clinical evolution.

Of the total number of cases (27), 24 were previously confirmed contacts, two with a source of infection abroad and one with no source of infection specified, and 16 are men and 11 are women.

Since the middle of last week, Cuba has reported an increase in the number of contagions with the SARS-Cov-2, the cause of Covid-19, which has made it necessary to increase individual and collective protection measures in workplaces, public transport and other places where there may be crowds.

At the end of December 17, Cuba had administered 42,639,680 doses of Cuban homegrown Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala vaccines.
