DPRK denies South Korea’s thesis on alleged missile launch

Pyongyang, Dec 20 (Prensa Latina) North Korean official Kim Yo Jong on Tuesday denied South Korea's thesis on the alleged launching by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) of a ballistic missile during the test of the first military reconnaissance satellite.

She called the arguments from alleged experts slanderous and said they are part of the Republic of Korea’s ongoing defamation campaigns against the DPRK to discredit Pyongyang internationally and mislead the South Korean people.

Kim considered illogical the negative criteria on the quality of the images published by South Korean media and the credibility of the project based on a couple of photographs published by media outlets.

She confirmed that an experimental camera was installed in the test and the necessary checks were made on the reliability of ground control, posture in the spaceflight environment, and filming control.

The official confirmed that the experiment corroborated the operational safety of the data transmission equipment, cryptography technology, and computer graphics of the data obtained with vertical and inclined filming.

The party leader pointed out that authorities then honestly and frankly informed the people about the results of the test, which she described as perfect, significant, and satisfactory.

As a sovereign state, the DPRK will steadfastly defend its right to boost its scientific potential despite the desperate efforts of its counterparts to impose additional sanctions on it, she noted.

Kim added that the development of the military satellite is the highest priority related to national security.
