Cuba reports 38 new Covid-19 cases

Havana, Dec 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's health authorities today reported 38 new positive cases of Covid-19 and no death, bringing the total number of people who have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease, to 1,111,827 since March 2020.

Yesterday, 1,281 samples were taken for surveillance with an accumulated total of 14,266,115 tests since the outbreak of the pandemic to determine the presence of the coronavirus, and a total of 192 patients were admitted, 68 suspected and 124 confirmed active, with a stable clinical evolution.

The Public Health Ministry confirmed that there are no serious nor critical patients in the country’s intensive care wards, nor are there any deaths.

The 38 new cases of Covid-19 were located in all provinces except Cienfuegos, Camagüey and Las Tunas, including the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.

Till last Thursday, 42,665,484 doses of the Cuban Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala vaccines had been administered in the country.
