Activists quoted by local media reported that residents of the towns of al-Kibar and al-Kasra came out in demonstrations, during which they blocked roads with burning tires and chanted slogans against the SDF. They added that people’s outrage continues for the fourth consecutive day after the discovery of two displaced women who were raped and murdered, and the locals accuse the head and members of the SDF Military Council of perpetrating this crime.
In turn, representatives of more than twenty tribes issued a communiqué demanding that the perpetrators be held accountable.
The Kurdish-majority SDF dominates most of the oil-rich Al-Jazira region and receives arms, money and training from the illegal US occupation forces.
Popular armed resistance actions have increased against this group, including press reports confirming the death of at least 10 of its members during last week.
