On Thursday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian called on Russia to request a discussion at the UN Security Council (UNSC) on Nagorno-Karabakh situation.
In particular, Pashinian urged for granting a UNSC mandate to the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the region or sending an additional multinational peacekeeping contingent there.
‘We are indeed deep concerned about the tensions regarding the Lachin corridor, Russia will continue to make efforts and work with both Yerevan and Baku,’ Peskov said regarding Pashinian’s appeal.
The Lachin corridor is controlled by a Russian peacekeeping contingent within the framework of the declaration of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed on November 9, 2020.
