Groups of consumers reacted negatively to the poor amount of the reduction at Petróleos Paraguayos (Petropar) service stations, which will sell all this week Aratiri 97, Oikoite 93 and Kape 88 gasoline for 250 guaraníes less (0.034 dollars).
The state-owned company joined the measures to reduce fuel rates applied by private dispensing plants, which made discounts of 400 (US$0.054) and 600 guaraníes during the last weeks of the recently ended 2022.
Paraguay is suffering an economic crisis that is affecting road transport in particular, since the government reduced fuel prices in February, a decision that, starting in march, caused protests and blockades by drivers and other employees in the sector, including Petropar workers.
