President appointed Yván Gil as the new foreign minister of Venezuela

Caracas, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) President Nicolás Maduro today appointed Yván Gil as the new foreign minister of Venezuela, replacing Carlos Faría, who held the position since May 16, 2022.

In his Twitter account, the president assured that Gil will carry out the new responsibility with great professionalism, thanked the outgoing head “for his outstanding work” and noted that new tasks will come to him in the coming days.

Maduro, in another message, also announced Pedro Rafael Tellechea, head of the state company Petróleos de Venezuela, who with his great experience at the head of the Petrochemical company, will consolidate the momentum of the national oil industry, he said.

All our recognition to the work of Asdrúbal Chávez, he will soon have new responsibilities, he indicated.

The head of state also appointed Aníbal Coronado as head of government of the island territory “Francisco de Miranda”, an entity with great potential that should be promoted as a strategic area for national development, he noted.

His experience will be vital for the fulfillment of this task, the ruler asserted.
