Agriculture Minister Sayyed el Qussair said in a statement that the figure represented an income of about 3.3 billion dollars.
Citrus led foreign sales with 1.8 million tons, followed by potatoes ( 871,000), onions (578,000) and beans (192,000).
Currently, more than 160 foreign markets receive Egyptian agricultural products.
According to official data, during 2020-2021 the country exported 5.6 million tons of agricultural products, with a revenue of three billion dollars.
The sector accounts for 15 percent of the national Gross Domestic Product and employs 25 percent of the total labor force.
