Iran will accept tourists from 50 countries without visas

Tehran, Jan 8 (Prensa Latina) Iran has decided to exempt tourists visa from some 50 countries from which they will be able to travel here, according to official sources.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Ali Asaqr Shalbafian, confirmed to Irna news agency the elaboration of the integral plan of visa cancellation, according to which travel from 50 countries to the Islamic Republic will be possible without that endorsement.

Shalbafian pointed out that neighboring states and those with growing markets in the field of tourism are the majority of these 50 countries, the full list of which has not yet been disclosed.

The Tourism Ministry representative highlighted that the previous visa cancellation agreement with Russia was delayed due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the world.

Figures from the Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism reflect that in the first quarter of the current Persian calendar year (started March 20, 2022), 800 thousand foreign tourists visited the country.
