Peru bans Evo morales from entering the country

Lima, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola on Monday banned former Bolivian President Evo Morales, whom he accused of proselytism in southern Peru, from entering the country.

Without presenting concrete evidence, Otarola said the measure applies for an indefinite period of time, as well as to nine other Morales’ compatriots. Otarola accused them of violating article 48 of the Migration Law that sets forth that foreigners who threaten or disturb internal order will not be received.

Otarola argued that in the last months, as claimed by the media and right-wing politicians, since then, Morales ‘has been propitiating a situation of crisis and chaos in the country’.

Government´s firm call has been taken for the benefit of life, dignity and integrity of all Peruvians’, Otarola claimed.
