Cuban president recalls student leader Julio Antonio Mella

Havana, Jan 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled on Tuesday student and communist leader Julio Antonio Mella, who was assassinated in Mexico by the henchmen of dictator Gerardo Machado (1925-1933) 94 years ago.

On his Twitter profile, the Cuban president recalled that Mella’s last words when he was shot at the age of 25 were, “I die for the Revolution.”

Díaz-Canel also highlighted the political leadership of the Cuban revolutionary man.

Organizations such as the Cuban Federation of University Students (FEU) and the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC) currently recognized him as a guide.

Julio Antonio Mella lives in the Cuban youth and students, the head of State tweeted.
