The senator, who was reelected in that position during the internal elections of the Concertación Nacional, will return when the conditions allow the required medical attention, added his son-in-law Luis Paciello in an interview with radio Monumental.
Lugo, also leader of the leftist coalition Frente Guasú, responded positively to the question of whether he will ratify his desire to remain in the race for the general elections of April 30.
According to Paciello, the former president, contrary to what some of those who visit him in his internment say, maintains his interest in political issues of the nation and asks especially about electoral issues.
Lugo inquired during the meeting with him about aspects of the national current affairs such as the voting in other formations like the Authentic Radical Liberal Party and the governmental Colorado Party and the process of selection of the Attorney General of the State, the family member reaffirmed.
The former head of State, who came in first place among the senators of the Frente Guasu for the general elections in April, will soon conclude his treatment in a specialized clinic in Buenos Aires, unless something changes, ‘but everything indicates that he will be back by the end of February’, Paciello said.
