Russia and China to increase bilateral trade

Moscow, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) The ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation, Zhang Hanhui, stated that both nations may increase the trade volume up to 200 billion dollars.

According to the diplomat, the two governments are fully confident in the fact that mutually advantageous cooperation will receive a boost, and the maximum expected by the leaders of both countries should be reached before the scheduled deadline.

At their last meeting, the presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and China, Xi Jinping, have decided to reach $200 billion in trade by 2024, the Chinese ambassador stated.

Zhang also pointed out that each year the volume of mutual trade grows and exceeds the previous figure, for example, in 2022 the exchange exceeded 180 billion dollars.

The diplomat also noted that in recent years, thanks to joint efforts, practical bilateral cooperation has been steadily developing, despite the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will be sincerely pleased if our Russian friends can identify the benefits of good-neighborhood relations and partnership between our countries, and continuous strive to restore and further deepen bilateral ties, in various fields,” Zhang concluded.
