Palestine remains Syria’s main cause, and Damascus will continue its inalienable support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and to have an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, he said during his reception of the secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Talal Naji.

The Chancellor reiterated the condemnation of criminal practices, violations and continuous assassinations committed by the Israeli authorities against the Palestinian people.

We reject the desecration of Islamic holy sites which constitute a war crime and a crime against humanity condemned by international law and human rights, the head of diplomacy said.

In response, Naji thanked Syria for never abandoning the cause of the Palestinians to obtain their legitimate rights.

The two sides stressed the importance of achieving Palestinian national unity in the face of the Israeli occupants continuous crimes and violations of the resolutions of international legitimacy and the rights of the Palestinian people.
