Russian troops continue offensive in Donetsk

Moscow, Jan 14 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Army continued its offensive in Donetsk, causing losses in men and weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defense Ministry spokesman, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, stated on Saturday.

The military officer said that the aviation and artillery hit the Ukrainian units dislocated in the Kharkiv and Lugansk regions, causing more than 30 casualties.

Two tanks, two armored combat vehicles, and three other vehicles were also destroyed.

Two sabotage and reconnaissance groups were annihilated by the Russian Army in Tabayevka and Pershotravnevoye in Kharkiv, Konashenkov noted.

In the southern region of Donetsk, the units of motorized riflemen and Marines of the Pacific Fleet attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in several towns of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the spokesman informed.

Konashenkov added that the Russian military forces attacked two Ukrainian ammunition depots in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as 118 artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in firing positions, personnel, and military equipment in 123 areas.

The Defense Ministry spokesman pointed out that the Russian air defense forces shot down four Ukrainian drones and intercepted seven Himars and Olja multiple missile launcher shells.
