Colombian president travels today to Switzerland for Davos Forum

Bogota, Jan 16 (Prensa Latina) Facing the climate crisis, promoting the energy transition and achieving total peace are the main priorities of the Colombian President, Gustavo Petro, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he will travel today.

According to the Presidency, he will have bilateral meetings with heads of state and government, and meetings with the presidents of multinational companies with investments in Colombia, such as Nestlé, Enel, Coca Cola, Microsoft and Yara.

Tomorrow, Petro will attend the session ‘Food Action Partnership: Investing in Greater Resilience’, where the Food Action Partnership Strategy 2023-2025 will be presented, and will speak alongside the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The Colombian president will fulfill a broad work agenda during the Forum, which will last until next Friday.

Under the slogan ‘Cooperation in a fragmented world’, the event will bring together more than 2,500 participants, including fifty heads of state or government.

The 53rd edition of the Davos Forum will be structured around five focal points: the energy and food crises; the economy in a period of high inflation, low growth and high debt; the obstacles facing industry; social vulnerability in the context of a new labor system; and geopolitical risks in the framework of a new multipolar world system.
