Xi expresses solidarity with Nepal over plane crash

Beijing, Jan 17 (Prensa Latina) China's President Xi Jinping expressed his solidarity with Nepal after the worst plane crash reported in 30 years in that country, which left at least 70 dead, official sources stated on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Xi asked in a message to Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari to extend his condolences to the victims’ families.

In addition to Xi, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sent a similar message to his Nepalese counterpart Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

On Sunday, an ATR aircraft operated by Nepal’s Yeti Airlines crashed in the Pokhara district, about 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu, with 72 people aboard while attempting to land.

Rescuers found the two black boxes on Monday, and the Government will send them to France to analyze the recordings.
