Addressing a Conference on Environmental Sustainability held in Oman, Abu Sunna highlighted the importance of the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that took place in Egypt on November 2022.
COP27 was a new agenda on the issue, which will be continued at the next summit to be held in the United Arab Emirates this year, he noted.
Quoted by MENA, Abu Sunna reiterated Cairo’s claims to compensate African countries for the losses caused by environmental crises and natural disasters.
He also emphasized on Egypt’s role in the region in fighting climate change.
