The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Assembly (Parliament) Vuong Dinh Hue, permanent member of the Secretariat of the VCP Central Committee Vo Van Thuong, head of the Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, and Acting Chairwoman Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
VNA news agency reported that the occasion was an opportunity to express deep gratitude to the independence hero for his enormous contributions to the struggle for national liberation and reunification.
They also reaffirmed that the Party, the army and the people will always follow the path chosen by President Ho Chi Minh and work in promoting his ideas and take the revolutionary cause he bequeathed to a new height.
The delegation of senior leaders also laid wreaths and incense at the Mausoleum dedicated to heroes and martyrs on Bac Son Street in the capital.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Central Military Commission and the Defense Ministry, the Central Public Security Commission and the Ministry of Public Security, the Party Committee, the People’s Committee and the Hanoi People’s Council also paid posthumous tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and martyrs.
