Cuba is grateful for the donation of vaccines from Panacea Biotec

New Delhi, Jan 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba thanked the Indian company Panacea Biotec for the donation of 125 thousand doses of the Easyfive-TT pentavalent vaccine by the Indian company Panacea Biotec for the island's child immunization program, a diplomatic source said.

The Cuban ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas, told Prensa Latina on Saturday that he visited the company’s headquarters in New Delhi, where he was received by its president Rajesh Jain and his management team, whom he thanked on behalf of the Cuban government and people for the solidarity and humanitarian gesture.

Simancas said that the donation of this company that manufactures vaccines and generic pharmaceutical products will contribute to continue with the cycle of child vaccination foreseen in the national immunization program, which Cuba carries out free of charge for all its children.

The diplomat recalled the historic ties of friendship and collaboration between Cuba and India, which serve as an example of South-South cooperation.

Easyfive-TT is a pentavalent vaccine that protects children against five preventable deadly diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and invasive infections caused by Haemophilus Influenza type b.
