During the meeting, both interlocutors agreed on the positive assessment of bilateral relations despite the existing difficulties, particularly due to the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which caused the Covid-19 pandemic.
The parties agreed on the need to exploit the existing potentials for collaboration, particularly in economy, tourism, science and culture.
Djukanovic underlined the importance of cooperation in the area of medicine and emphasized the high standards of the health sector and the development of medical practice on the Caribbean island.
Earlier, Tristá del Todo was also received by the President of the Assembly, Danijela Djurovic, who called for boosting the ties between the two legislative bodies.
The parliamentary leader highlighted the convenience of developing the exchange of high-level visits and the creation of friendship groups as ways of cooperation between the two institutions.
In both cases, the diplomat thanked Montenegro for its support to the Cuban resolution against the blockade that is approved every year by the United Nations General Assembly and highlighted the sympathy and friendship between both peoples and governments. Cuba and Montenegro established diplomatic relations on October 20, 2006.
