According to local media reports, Abbas and Bagheri underlined during a meeting in Tehran, the Persian capital, the strong relations and reviewed ways to enhance joint cooperation for the sake of the two friendly peoples.
Our close cooperation had fruitful results in defeating terrorism and hostile plots, the Syrian head said.
He added that the victory achieved over terrorism is joint and the two countries made sacrifices on Syrian soil. Abbas thanked Tehran for its support to Syria during the war and stressed the importance of continuing cooperation, consultation and joint coordination.
For his part, Bagheri described the Syrian-Iranian ties as profound and praised the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army, who foiled plots, defeated terrorism and preserved their independence and national sovereignty.
The Syrian minister began a visit to Iran today at the head of an official delegation to discuss with senior Iranian officials issues of common interest.
