Celac: Argentine President condemns US blockade against Cuba

Buenos Aires, Jan 24 (Prensa Latina) In his speech at the 7th of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) on Tuesday, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba. As pro tempore head of Celac, I demanded respect for the rights of all nations and the end of the blockades that the countries of the region undergo, the president noted.

Blockades are perverse methods against peoples.

Cuba has been suffering one for more than six decades and this is unforgivable, he added.

Fernandez also denounced the US aggression against Venezuela and underscored the importance of raising one’s voice against such acts.

The Argentine president expressed his support for the unity of the so-called Patria Grande (Great Homeland) and warned about the rise of extreme right-wing forces.

On the other hand, he stressed the need to defend integration and pay special attention to problems faced by the Caribbean such as climate change.
